"Blog" is an abreviated version of the term "Web Log". A log(journal) of any form found on the internet is known as a Blog. Blogs have been used for several decades and have recently become popular with widespread use through livejournal, blogger, and myspace. As a form of alternative media, blogs are a way for people all around the world to communicate with each other. Some of the most popular blogs foccus on controversial topics. DO NOT BE OFFENDED! Everyone has a different level of acceptance and what may be taboo in one country can be a social requirement in another country. If you approch blogging with an open mind and the will to learn, you will be richly rewarded with the experience of blogging on the internet!

Dr. Sexson uses blogs in his class to the advantage of his students and how we engage the material. They are a form of controlled(just enough) media which students can use to take the class material to levels not found in other classes. By linking to each others blogs and engaging in direct discussion, we can take our classroom learning in a new and exciting direction. I sound like a marketing tool. Ugh.
